The Rocking W Ranch comprises 5,500 acres in Dimmit County, one of the most sought-after, Boone and Crockett producing counties in the Golden Triangle of South Texas.  The ranch represents classic, large South Texas acreage with fair chase hunting, rigorous game management, and a comfortable lodge with the amenities hunters need after a long day in the brush.  The property is family owned and has been game managed under a high fence for fifteen years.  The ranch has a 1:1 buck/doe ratio, an age structure that allows the wild bucks on the ranch to grow old, as well as fair chase hunting practices that involve none of the imported genetics or penned deer that so many smaller operations are forced to employ.  The deer herd benefits from careful culling, supplemental feeding, warm season food plots and a management philosophy centered on letting ‘em grow old. 

The ranch is home to trophy wild boars, numerous quail, predators such as coyotes and bobcats, and big black bass in the many stocked tanks.  We offer an extremely limited number of guided hunts for whitetail deer, wild boars, quail, or predators; and hope guests will take a minute to enjoy the fishing during their trip.  Rocking W hunts are oriented toward small to mid-sized groups and are managed with the personal touch missing in most ‘outfitter style’ operations.
